Obituary of Elizabeth "Liz" Jean Sander
SANDER, ELIZABETH JEAN November 1, 1956 – October 25, 2019 It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Elizabeth Sander, she passed away peacefully in her home. She was born November 1, 1956 in Toronto Western Hospital to James and Mary (Robinson) Allison. She was the first bay born on the first day of Toronto Western's Diamond Jubilee year. Elizabeth was employed for over 30 years in Financial Services in TD and Symcor ranging from Cheque Processing to HR and Client Relations having a wonderful knack for solving problems. Those skills were a great asset to her later career with Home Depot and Innocon as Liz had an uncanny ability to reach people in deep and positive ways all while she was balancing many tasks and keeping them on track. Wherever she was, Liz made wonderful friends. She loved her vacations in Arizona and was also an avid camping enthusiast who managed to visit most of Ontario's Provincial Park with her family.
She married Sandy Sander in April 19, 1975 and brought two wonderful sons into the world Sandy James and Erik Robert. They were her pride and joy and she was the perfect Mom to support them in their various organized Sports. That tradition continued as Liz attended all of the Ballet and Athletic events for Grandchildren Inara and Cameron. Liz truly lived life to the fullest excelling in cooking, baking and dancing at the highest level. Her Shortbread was legendary and much sought after as her baking started usually in November for Christmas. Her dancing was at a Competitive level and she was honoured to participate in the Edinburgh Tattoo as a Highland Dancer when she was in her teens. In later years she loved Zumba and even became certified as an Instructor. Any tasks that she had to do around the house had to be accompanied by music thusly there was Floor Washing music which would be mainly Latin beats.
Sadly Liz's brother Jimmy Allison passed away two month earlier adding to this very tragic and sad event.
Elizabeth is lovingly remembered and missed by her loving sons, Sandy James and Erik Robert as well as her daughter in law Grace, her cherished two Grandchildren Cameron and Inara as well as her former spouse Sandy.
