Sunday, May 26, 2019Dear Carol and family, I am so sorry for your loss. My heart sank when I learned of Leo’s death. His support was invaluable to me during the years that I taught Religion at St. Patrick. He was always so helpful and ready to answer any of my questions. His sense of humour and huge smile lifted me up many times, especially on my most difficult days. He was such a kind, thoughtful and gentle man. I will miss him. May he rest in peace. Carol, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. My sincerest condolences.

Saturday, May 25, 2019Carol, I was very sad to hear of Leo’s death. My thoughts and prayers are with you and his family. I always appreciated Leo’s leadership as Head of Religion at St. Pat’s as well as his inherent ability to plan with his team very meaningful liturgies for both students and staff. We were leaving for a transatlantic cruise the day I heard the sad news and couldn’t help but remember that Leo loved travelling and cruising. I thought about him often while we were crossing the Atlantic. May he rest in peace and may you find peace in remembering all the love and good times that you and Leo enjoyed together.

Thursday, May 23, 2019We extend our deepest sympathy and thoughts to Carol and family. We became friends of Leo and Carol due to our friendship with Brenda and Brendan Hollohan. Leo was kind soul, with a passion for life. He was a great conversationalist and knowledgeable, and we would have spirited discussions on politics, education and of course, travelling. Leo and Carol's kind encouragement started us cruising. We are deeply moved by the passing of Leo.

Friday, May 17, 2019I have seldom met anyone who was as bright and positive towards life as Leo. Leo and Carol together always welcomed friends and family in a warm and natural way. Leo was from Newfoundland and reflected in his personality and smile the very best of the Province. Their love of travel showed a fun retirement and openness to the world. I will miss Leo but I can never forget that smile! Barry Blackburn, Toronto

Thursday, May 16, 2019Leo was a neighbor and friend. We were endeared to each other with wholesome conversations about life. He now knows the full meaning of life in his eternal rest. No more sorrow, pain or taxes... "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." (2 Corinthians 5:8) To Carol and Family...“Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Mathew 5:4) He'll be dearly missed. Rest in peace dear friend until we meet again. Thursday, May 16, 2019Leo was a great guy and a straight shooter and never took things too seriously. I think that the first thing on his agenda when he gets to the pearly gates will be to organize a cruise for everyone. As well as teaching together for many years we would often meet somewhere in St. John's for lunch usually cod tongues during our summer vacations. I will truly miss that. It is fitting that he return to his beloved Newfoundland. Rest in peace dear friend!
