Obituary of Douglas Wallace

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the age of 95 at Cedarvale Lodge, Keswick, ON.  Predeceased by his wife Audrey.  Survived by his daughter Margot (Bob Richardson) and his grandson Ben Richardson.  Predeceased by his parents James and Edna, and his siblings Velma, Ferdinand, Jean Hawkins, Olga, Wartman, Shirley and Donald. Doug was a devoted teacher, first at a one room schoolhouse in Cataraqui and later retiring from the North York Board of Education after 40 years.  He continued to touch the lives of many as an outdoor educator at the Kortright Conservation Area and through his volunteer work with the North York Historical Society and other community organizations. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge in Harrowsmith, ON and a long time parishioner at St. George on Yonge Anglican Church in North York.  He will be greatly missed by family and friends.  Friends may call at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St. (at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Friday, December 7 from 10am until time of Memorial Service at 11am.  We would like to thank the staff at Cedarvale Lodge for their care and kindness.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.  Condolences www.rskane.ca
