Maggie passed away early on the morning of October 29, 2018, naturally and at home, surrounded by her close family.
Maggie was born in Hong Kong on January 8, 1935 and received her Nursing training in England. In the late 1950s, she immigrated to Canada where she attended Queen’s University as one of their earliest Chinese students. Later, she received a Master’s degree in Education and enjoyed a rich and rewarding career as a Nurse Educator at various community colleges in Toronto, at NethersoleHospital in Hong Kong and in Malawi. After retiring from GeorgeBrownCollege, she joined Project Hope, with whom she established a Nursing Education program at the Shanghai Children’s MedicalCenter. During her four years in Shanghai, Maggie became a greatly respected leader and mentor to an emerging generation of Chinese Nurse Educators.
Maggie is survived by her daughter Lana, her two sons Raymond (Irene) and Norman (Satoko), her sister May and four grandchildren Amelia, Rosalind, Averil and Julian. Maggie is lovingly remembered by her extended family and friends.
