Obituary of Eric Chambers
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Eric Chambers at the age of 80 years at Toronto Western Hospital. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Marion of 62 years, his children Alan (Denise), Malcolm (Cassandra) and Glenis (Murray), and grandchildren Lindsey, Colin, Iain, Kaeli, Montana and Eric.
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland Eric met his bride Marion in a movie theater. He worked as the projectionist and she was the candy girl. They married at a very young age and moved to Canada in 1956 to start a new life.
Eric spent many years as Operations Manager for a variety of companys in the transportation industry. Shortly after arriving in Canada, he served as a proud member of the 48th Highlanders of Canada. Later in life, he dedicated many years to serving our Veterans as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and as the Manager of Branch 66 in North York. Following his retirement, Eric held several positions on the Branch Executive including President for many years.
Eric enjoyed volunteering as a Coach in the Toronto Marlies Minor Hockey Association and always enjoyed watching his Children and Grandchildren play the game. He also had a love for playing golf and spent many frustrating but enjoyable hours on the links with family and friends.
Eric will be deeply missed by all who loved him!
In lieu of flowers, donations in Eric's memory may be made to Parkinson Canada.
