Suzanne Margaret Ramsay

It is with deep sadness that we wish to announce the passing of Suzanne Margaret Ramsay. Suzanne passed away peacefully in her Thornhill home with the palliative care team and with her loving husband, Jim, by her side on Saturday October 26th. Suzanne is survived by her mother Phyllis Livingstone, and her sisters Shirley and MaryLou Livingstone.

Suzanne was born and raised in Toronto November 8, 1949. She dedicated her life to educating students at the TDSB for 30 years as a Special Ed French Immersion educator. Subsequently, she established the business of Art of Wellness focusing on children and adults. Using such tools as Educational Kinesiology and other Brain-Integrated Techniques, Suzanne happily and lovingly assisted all those in need.

Suzanne was a life-long learner and dedicated educator. She was passionate about gardening and won First Place Category B Large Garden Award. Similarly at her summer home in PEI she created and transformed her gardens into lush and beautiful spaces that attracted the eyes of many and served the wildlife. PEI was her place of tranquility, which she and Jim proudly created.

Suzanne loved traveling and easily made life-long friends everywhere she travelled, especially throughout France. All those who met her felt an instantaneous connection to her. Suzanne graduated from both York University and University of Toronto and then continued her studies at the University of Aix Marseilles, where she studied phonetics in the French language. She had a remarkable facility for languages with a special passion for French.

Suzanne was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2015. She bravely endured multiple treatments in the past 4 years. She maintained her dignity, grace and poise during this most challenging time with the same composure as she lived her life.

We are comforted by so many wonderful memories and by her friend’s reflections of the positive difference she made in their lives. Suzanne’s passions extended to traveling, learning different languages, painting, counseling and mostly connecting and always caring and helping others with love and dedication.

Suzanne’s love and care for others will extend beyond her physical being here with us. In lieu of flowers we would like to honour Suzanne’s memory with donations being directed to Tali’s Fund. Tali’s Fund was established in loving memory of Tal Esther Doron, a beautiful 4-year old girl who lost her battle with a rare and aggressive brain tumour in 2007. Your donations will help us save lives and improve quality of life for children with brain tumours! Suzanne was passionate about the care of children.
